Faith in Community Restored: A talk with my barangay DRRRM kagawad

Imahe
Barangay Interview and Community Walk In my NSTP class, we were tasked to interview our local Barangay Captain or the head for the BDRRRM department about their readiness and knwledge about the hazard for certain things. I was able to have the honor of interviewing Kagawad Marlon Chua, Head of the BDRRRM committee. Going into this activity, I wasn’t entirely enthusiastic about it. It was nearing finals and every requirement deadline is just around the corner. Not to mention the amount of academic studying I’ve been fighting sleep for on most days. I was never the person to be actively knowing the twists and turns, the happenings and important events and things at our own barangay. I leave all the local political stuff to my mom and especially to my grandmother since she was well known around our area. I had the glimpse of how dirty politics could be in LGUs and it through that I had a predisposed inkling towards seeing several mistakes in our comm...

Climate Change: *hSUK* Is it-Is it real??

Photo and Edit by yours truly  One of the dearest things to me that we have talked about in our TNCT class is about Climate Change. It may not look like much that I care about the world, but yeah. I do. Compared to my classmate that advocates about the environment, really, I don ’ t look like much. One thing I now for sure though, Climate change is real. Real enough to spark my curiosity and real enough to make me care. I know we teenagers nowadays don ’ t look like we care much about the grander scheme of things. We are known to be trend setters and followers of the mainstream. That the next thing to holy for us are our aesthetics in fashion and to be honest, it may come across as we focus on things that don ’ t really matter. That we cling on to the worldliest of things. I ’ m not going to lie, at some point, it is like that. Though, I would love to prove things wrong. If you look really closely, beyond the veil of clothes and self-righteousness, we DO care. And I c...

The Art of Spotting A Trend: Pistang Tomas

AS IN SPRAK, mamsh. AT KAILANGAN PA PALA ILAGAY SA BLOG.  Double Sprak! I wanted to rise up to the challenge. How can I make this work? I didn't want to sound like I was giving any excuses. Kahit sobrang hindi talaga ako okay noon, I still really wanted to make this blog kahit papaano.  FORTUNATELY, naging considerate samin ang prof namin (WOOHOO) at extended ang deadline. Nagkaron pa ako ng pagkakataon na pagplanuhan kung anong ...
